Perhaps a Caption Competition ?
It was mooted that the “Blairite Camp” wanted David Miliband to stand as an alternative to Gordon Brown on the change of ‘leadership’ of the Labour Party, it never happened and the slightly pompous “Milly” has become Foreign Secretary in the Brown Government. The consequence of which was at Lisbon this week a truly classic image of him being welcomed by the Portuguese Prime Minister and Foreign Minister because McCavity Brown hadn’t the guts to ‘front’ the gig.
I find David Miliband to be quite amusing, he seems a rather arrogant puppy who is far too full of his own sense of importance but that always happens when one political party has been in power too long, ministers assume a “Right to Rule” attitude. Sadly for a Foreign Secretary it would appear, he is totally ignorant of British History so that when ‘baited’ with a “Peace in out time” jibe over the EU Constitution, didn’t have the knowledge, grace or smarts to reply appropriately, he just threw a petulant sulk.
In some ways, David Milliband is a “soul sister” of Michael Portillo who too was the “The Man Who Would be King…” Portillo lost his seat in 1997 and from that experience, eventually became a very likeable figure having learned “humility” along the way.
Anyway, stolen off the Internet and then re-worked, a Mr Moribund picture for all to enjoy and although I have presented a couple of captions, really good ones will be welcomed.
“Don’t worry David, I have a suit just like it, I use it for gardening.”
“Thank Heavens we removed the Bolts from his neck, he almost looks normal, let’s wheel him in for the signing and then, out again before anybody tries to talk to the dummy !”
