Forced Marriages or a Total Disengagement from British Society ?

Something in the Telegraph yesterday caught my eye and I mailed in a couple of comments but the starting point was the story concerning the Labour MP for Keighley, Ann Cryer who is going to step down at the next General Election. As the DT said:

“She has been a doughty campaigner on behalf of those young women in her constituency, usually of Pakistani background, who have been forced into marriage. Her brave stand has brought her into conflict with leaders of the Muslim community in her constituency. Partly as a result of these pressures – and, no doubt, the emotional scars caused by the premature deaths of two husbands – Mrs Cryer has decided to call it a day.”

Forced Marriages

Although she concentrated upon them, the real problem is not “Forced Marriages” as such, it is Tribal behaviour patterns which are not part of any Religious Faith. For example the problems associated with forced marriages are as likely to involve Hindus and Sikhs as well as Muslims of Pakistani origins. In the case of Sikhs this is particularly shameful where it arises because their religion specifically confirms equality on women.

Whether people like it or not, the UK is in its cultural origins, a Christian country and there is a simple lesson that everyone needs to learn if they wish to live in these Islands and it comes from the “Man” himself:

A Christian Society in Origin

No one liked paying taxes to the Romans so a trick question was put to Christ concerning a Roman coin. You should all know the rest: “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God’s. British Law is secular law and therefore offers equal protection and freedom of religious expression under it but tribal customs suitable for Kashmir are not acceptable in Bradford, Luton or anywhere else in the UK, end of story.

However much people may protest about their particular faith, it does not matter one iota what the “aim” of any particular religion is whether Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist, Old Uncle Tom Cobblers and all, it is about the “delivery”. “Educated Muslims” may well write words of explanation but the reality in the UK is that the average immigrants from the Indian sub-Continent are rural in origin and mainly uneducated, they came here for material advantage, not to be ‘British Citizens’.

Their main preoccupation lies in ‘milking the UK economy’ to send cash back to their ‘homelands’ which is how they see the world, the UK is a Milch Cow not ‘home’. Their level of total ‘disengagement’ from a British way of life can be measured in how few serve in the Armed Forces or the Police. Oh sure, my son the Lawyer, Doctor and so on but this too speaks of an attitude that is to “take advantage of” but remain alien to the host society. Whilst young unemployed and not well educated Muslims in Bradford and other such towns and Cities may be happy to murder or, contemplate murdering British Servicemen, they are creating a major problem for all Asian in origin communities within the UK.

Regardless of any particular religion, the Asian community needs to end even the concept of “arranged marriages” in the UK unless, both parties were born and raised in the UK. It is an obvious nonsense that someone bought up in the UK and subject to “western culture” all their lives, should imagine that marrying someone bought up in a rural part of the Indian sub-Continent, is even vaguely a “good idea”. I have witnessed at first hand the consequences through work colleagues when it all goes terribly wrong.

The Seeds of Open Troubles…

The events of 7/7 in London if carried out on the Indian sub-Continent would have led to massive “race/religious” riots with considerable loss of life but, it didn’t happen here. The truth is, forget all the pious words, regardless of religion, it is high time that people originally or, their parents originally from the Indian sub-Continent made their mind up about where “home” is and whatever they decide, go and live there and be part of that community.

If I were “in charge” of immigration, I would ban any person to enter the UK from the Indian sub-Continent immediately and such policy to run for a minimum of 5 years initially before ‘review’. This to include all brides, grooms and dependants of people already here. And regardless of what Brussels says, I would also reject any so called EU Citizen who had the same origins and tried to settle in the UK.

Loss of British Citizenship…

I would also place severe restrictions on young “British girls” travelling to the Indian sub-Continent, immigration would “count them out and count them back in” with severe financial and criminal penalties on their UK family if they didn’t return safely. As people haven’t ‘played the game’ to date, the switch would be to “prove it” and a Mother who travelled out on ‘holiday’ with two daughters but only came back with one, is likely to get sent back and refused entry, British Passport or not.

Sadly it seems to me that few Asians value this Country but I do and never want to see here what happened in Nazi Germany in the 30/40s or Bosnia more recently. It is time that people stood up for what they believe in. India (as a generic term) has given much to the UK in cultural terms but for people from there who have settled here “piss or get off the pot”. Either they want to be part of British society or, they should sell up and go where they will feel happier but please do stop messing about, time is almost up. Perhaps it is also high time that the physical “Ghettos” were dissolved so that the psychological barriers can too.
