So Totally Funny but also, Surreal…

I sometimes wonder what possesses politicians and publishers to blindly combine in the ways that they do. Today the Daily Telegraph decided to publish an article supposedly written by Gordon Brown which would have been fine if he had anything new to say or, if he were prepared to speak differently as in treating us like real grown-ups.

No, Mr Dalek wrote in his usual totally robotic terms, clearly he sees nothing, hears nothing and understands even less. I don’t know how long this link will last, I hope forever because not only do you need to read his drivel but the readers comments are staggering !

He Must Have a Death Wish…

When I first read the article, there were no published comments but this was my effort:

“Yes, eventually we will emerge from all of this both wiser and stronger but, without you and your appalling Government who have left this Country so unprepared for what has happened in the Global Economy.

It is no good you trying to deflect the blame by saying this started in America, you were in charge of the UK economy for 10 years as Chancellor and now over a year as Prime Minister and plainly you are just not up to the job.

Let us be frank, you are totally hopeless and an embarrassment to all British people and regardless of their political affiliations. We just want you gone so that we can get on with clearing up the mess you have left so that we can rebuild our economy.

Like most politicians, you have no idea how we the public feel about both you and your Cabinet. We are sick of even the sight of you, either you or any member of the Government has to appear on TV and we all mentally ‘turn off’, nobody is listening to you. I hope you enjoy your index linked retirement after May 2010 and every time you draw a £, we want you to remember how you destroyed the pensions of all the people looking forward to Final Salary Schemes that just won’t be there due to your tax policies.

A Little Later…

I suspect the DT got a deluge they had to work through until great batches were published. Some of the contributions were as ever, very interesting the vast majority downright condemning and stealing the odd quote does reflect the flavour.

“So Gordon, it took you 11 years and a global financial disaster to figure out that

1. Banks need to be regulated
2. Banks are unique compared with other businesses

All I can say is that, it’s a good thing Chuchill, and not you, was PM during WW2. Otherwise we’d now all be speaking German! “

“Show some grace and HONOUR (that’s spelt ‘H.O.N.O.U.R.’) and resign forthwith.”

“Mr Brown, how dare YOU of all people talk of trust? You who ran for election on an agenda that included a referendum on the EU constitution. You are, Sir, a habitual liar who cannot be trusted on anything.”

“It defies belief that this newspaper gives over space to this utterly hopeless and mendacious man and his band of henchman. What a load of low grade drivel from a disaster of a Prime Minister.”

“What a load of self serving cobblers. All these financial problems stem entirely from your unremitting fiscal profligacy, your totally irresponsible wild expansion of the money supply and the massive expansion of public and private debt. The ‘markets’ and their values – which need no help from you – are passing judgement on your rank arrogant incompetence.”

“I am glad you published this weird article. It show clearly that the Prime Minister has finally gone mad. It should be required reading in all Business Schools. Students should be reminded of the complete nutters who sometimes run governments. Hubristic incompetents are not only a product of the African political system. Europe can also produce nation destroyers of wondrous ability.”

Conclusion

The comments go on and on in a similar vein but what comes across strongest is a great deal of anger and it is heartfelt as this:

“Mr Brown
I voted for you.
I am British. I am a teacher.
I have three children – I am supporting them through University
I have worked and saved hard to pay my way. I am sensible and prudent with my money.
I have lost my life’s savings, and their future in KS&F IOM
You have let us all down.”

There was a lot of people posting about money that had lost through Brown’s actions in freezing Icelandic assets within the UK using anti-terror legislation.

It is utterly staggering and beyond rational human belief to imagine that Brown, Harmon, Millibands etc are totally oblivious to the utter detestation that the public feel towards them. I have seem people comment that in another country, they would already have been strung up on lamp posts but both the politicians and the media seem unaware of the anger and pressure that is building up, out here in the real World. Mind you, I suppose that it was probably like this just prior to the French Revolution.

PS

Later on came this most brilliant contribution which deserves a ‘highlight’:

Dear Mr Brown,

I regret that due to the prevailing economic circumstances, we will have to let you go, effective Friday the 24th of October.

In recognition of your long service to our company, we will be giving you three months’ pay as a severance package. This has been deposited in the Kaupthing Bank, per your instructions when you began your probation period.

I am sorry that this has come to pass, and we will miss a familiar colleague. There has been no official arrangement made for a send-off party; perhaps you can canvass your co-workers yourself? Harriet is very good at arranging the tea and biscuits for our team meetings (clever little thing)- I’d suggest you ask her.

Please see Mr Darling at Payroll who will provide you with the relevant forms. If Mr Darling is no longer there, please see Mr Osborne.

We will be more than happy to provide a full reference for you, detailing everything that you have done to us.

Yours faithfully,
England
