I guess that the Daily Telegraph must be hosting “Work Experience” sessions for people aspiring to enter the newspaper business. If so, they are allowing them quite a lot of scope, even it would appear to writing Editorials.

We are used to the biased and selective reporting of the BBC with their Andrew Marr, Nick Robinson, the Today programme plus all the other lefty trolls but the Telegraph is getting quite amusing. Today’s effort was to suggest that Brown might get elected on the “Cling to Nurse…” basis at the next General Election…

Like Yesterday

The comments that came flooding in were quite direct and of the “Are you mad ?” tendency with some quite witty stuff thrown in. On a serious level, just like members of the Government seem totally oblivious to the intense dislike they generate in people, the Media too seems increasingly estranged from the world most of us live in.

For a long time with people like Nick Robinson and Andrew Marr, we have become totally aware that because of their specialization in politics, they too have become part of the bubble that is the Westminster Village and therefore not really living in our world. However, they will have Editors and it should all get balanced out against the broader background of life but of late and right across the spectrum, this is not happening, all media seems to have become increasingly introverted and isolated from any ‘normality’.

Come on Barclay Brothers, just who is pulling your strings these days, what ‘inducements’ are being offered ?

The problem increasingly seems to be that the ‘Media’ are getting as disconnected from us out here in the real world as our politicians did long ago. If you want further proof, look at the Gordon Brown article you published yesterday, the man is not just in denial, he is bonkers but more importantly, read the comments, there is a lot of anger if not rage building up out here.

All of you people in the “Political/Media Sphere” really do need to tread carefully and stop insulting our intelligence by serving up tripe like this. It has never been true that the Conservatives are a “shoo-in” for the next election and a hung Parliament is still the most likely outcome at this time.

However, the reasons for this pre-date this financial crisis and are based upon the utter contempt that most people feel towards politicians and the sort of things that Derek Conway got up to. The problem is that on investigation, it then became clear that he was acting ‘normally’ they were “all at it” even the Speaker using “Air Miles” to fly his family south for Christmas.

But the game has changed again: people are not clinging to “Nurse Brown”, they know there is nothing that they can do except wait until it plays out even whilst watching their pensions and savings destroyed before their very eyes and they know who is responsible for that through personal incompetence – Gordon Brown. You lot really ought to wake up and perhaps the best advice you can offer Brown is that he should start negotiating with the Saudis for political asylum like any other tin pot Dictator that has fallen from power.
