The Arrest of Damian Green MP

im-hp.jpg

The arrest and detention for 9 hours by the Metropolitan Police of the Shadow spokesman on Immigration over ‘leaked’ Home Office documents manages to be both slightly sinister and also pure slapstick.

Although I think that Gordon Brown and all of his Cabinet should have been drowned at birth along with the rest of their litters, let us be a bit steady here. In the UK ‘cock up’ is the norm rather than ‘conspiracy’ and anyway Gordon being a total moron would find the latter too difficult even with the Queen of Darkness to help him remember the plot and his lines.

I am Not One for Conspiracy Theories…

im-baldy3.jpg

In the UK, “cock up” is far more likely than a “conspiracy” but that does not mean to say, as the Labour Party often demonstrates that “manipulation of the media” is not commonplace within the UK.

Being a Thursday the Telegraph publishes yet another Mary Riddell article that speaks only of her confused mind that seeks only to ‘serve’ the Labour Party and Gordon Brown in particular. Now whilst there is nothing unusual in this, the censoring of the resulting “comments” from readers is rather odd.

Saving the UK Economy…

im-pens.jpg

Today a not very bright chap wrote into a very angry Telegraph comments board saying that the emergency budget was wonderful and if we all went out and spent our money all would be well in the UK economy.

Fortunately this particular person is obviously as thick as two short planks because he did pick up a lot of flack from other people. Of course and in basic principle, he is correct but in the same sense that if people holding stocks and shares in a particular company refuse to panic sell, the share price will not crash but, that is not the way human beings tend to react.

The ID Cards Project – End It Now

im-brown.jpg

Given the current economic circumstances and the need to reduce Government spending dramatically, there are a whole number of projects that come to mind but ID Cards really are ‘up there’ near the very top of the list. The fact that the project is still running is a testament to the sheer stubbornness and asinine stupidity of the current occupant of Drowning Street, Gordon Brown.

Whilst there are some simple minded folk who think ID Cards are a good idea – “I have nothing to Hide…” it is just because they are simple minded. I have been commenting on the ID Card scheme since the idea was “sold” to that daft Tony Blair who, like most of the MPs in Parliament, are not qualified to make that decision and, do not have Civil Servants or Independent Advisers who are either.

A Wasted Emergency Budget

im-pound.jpg

Essentially I suspect that Alistair Darling is a decent man, his honest appraisal in an interview some months ago seems to support such a view when he said that the economic situation was the worst for 60 years unfortunately, Gordon Brown isn’t.

The key problem here is that economic considerations will take a very secondary place to Brown’s ego. He lusted so long for the top job, got it and has made a total horlicks of it. As with the current situation, which he insists on blaming “America” for in order to deflect blame from his own fiscal incompetence whilst Chancellor, he will not accept that he is a totally useless Leader and Prime Minister.

The Answer on a Sauce Label…

im-browndarling.jpg

Last week, a friend of mine who claims no interest in politics, their view being that as individuals we are powerless to change anything or even get politicians to listen to us, set me an interesting challenge.

What they wanted me to do was to come up with just one reason why the Labour Party should be voted out of Office at the next General Election. It was entirely up to me to decide exactly what that reason was, this policy or that but, I could only put forward ONE and that must be good enough for the politically uncommitted to understand and consider.

Political Leadership is Crucial…

im-browncameron.jpg

In times such as these we are experiencing economically, political leadership becomes an extremely important commodity but unfortunately in Gordon Brown, it is non-existent. This is hardly surprising as by his very temperament and nature, he seems to lack leadership skills plus after 11 years in power and economic policies he is responsible for, his is a “Rescue Gordon’s Reputation mission” rather than policies dedicated to the good of the Country.

This is not a simple “Kick Brown Essay”, it is far more serious than that because Brown himself, is an illustration of just how things can go seriously wrong “socially” when the economic pooh hits the fan and your “main man” happens to be a political illiterate.

The BBC and the Licence Fee

im-spit2.jpg

Given the choice to pay a tax or not, most people quite sensibly will NOT. The BBC “TV Licence” is an interesting case in point because it is a Ring-Fenced Tax that is spent on the thing it is raised for – the British Broadcasting Corporation unlike say “Road Tax” which is not spent on roads, it’s just another tax.

However, just mention the TV Licence in passing in a paper like the Daily Telegraph as Gill Hornby did today and watch the feathers fly in the chicken coup !

George Osborne Tells it the Way it Is…

im-osbourne.jpg

It finally looks as though David Cameron and the Tory Party have decided to forget about the bi-partisan approach to the British economy and go on the attack. Twice in these past few days, George Osborne has attacked Gordon Brown’s handling of the economy.

The task of the Tory Party is not an easy one, speak loudly and they will be accused of “Talking the Pound/Economy down.” Speak not at all and they will be accused of being “weak and lacking in ideas” but this period is now passing and their patience to date should reap a reward.

A Brilliant New Idea on the “Lisbon Treaty”

im-eu.jpg

We can moan as much as we like about the Fascist Gordon Brown signing away our British Freedoms and selling us into EU Bondage but, as with all Dictators, it is pointless arguing with him just as it would have been with Stalin, Hitler or Pol Pot, the One-Eyed one considers himself the font of all knowledge.

So, I have come up with a different ‘wheeze’ which I want all the public to take up and regardless of whether they think our current ‘engagement’ with the EU is good or bad. I am not sure whether to call this the “20%” or the “80%” Campaign so votes on which are invited but the idea goes as follows…
