Wake Up Call – Leave the Political EU Now !

The election of Barak Obama in the United States the other day and the genuine ‘feel good factor’ that came with it is uplifting whether you are American or not because it speaks of the possibility of change and better days ahead.

Now I must admit that John McCain was rather more my personal choice but and however wearing the American Presidential process is that leads to the White House, it is truly a democratic one where nothing is settled until the people have had their say at the ballot box. The joy of it all makes one realise just how far we in the UK have fallen from the high ideals that the founding fathers took from us to write the American Constitution.

Where We Are Today

I will not pen yet another diatribe against the EU, it is what it is and may those who wish to be part of it be happy and be at peace. Neither will I rail against the loss of our Sovereignty, with 80% of our Laws emanating from Brussels and never debated in the House of Commons, that is all too obvious, the hard facts speak this truth.

No my biggest complaint is that British Democracy in terms of Parliament being both the servants and representatives of the People, the only and supreme law making body has been killed off by first Blair and then over “Lisbon” Brown and Banana Boy Miliband over these past 11 years.

Although and to be totally fair and particularly as all 3 mentioned are hardly that intellectually bright or capable, they were just continuing a process connected to the EU which started under Thatcher and Major when the Tories were in power.

However, the deliberate reneging on the Labour Party Election Manifesto to hold a Referendum on the EU Constitution is a major disgrace and whilst it may have happened because Gormless Gordon didn’t know what he was doing, doesn’t change the reality.

The weak defence by Brown that we are a Parliamentary Democracy and therefore we do not have Referendums on what was the EU Constitution relabelled as the Lisbon Treaty, is of course total crap there is no difference between the two. So much so and despite the rejection of the original by the Dutch and the French but prior to the reconstitution of the document as the Lisbon Treaty, Brussels has already implemented two thirds of the proposals anyway and contrary to the expressed democratic wishes of those EU citizens “allowed to vote” on the matter.

If in the UK we were promised a Referendum on the first by all 3 major political parties at the last General Election, it equally applied to the second proposal despite it being disguised as the Lisbon Treaty.

The Real Objection to the EU

It is that it is lacking in any democratic mandate, the European Parliament is a fig leaf with little to no power or influence. The European Commission and all the Government Heads of State were determined to avoid any Referendums in case of them not getting the “Right Answer”. Surely it must occur to even these self serving fools that if you cannot explain and convince your citizens of the benefits of belonging to the EU, it is clearly not worth them being part of it.

But what is clear is that being involved in the EU has led to a total corruption of British Public Life by people in politics, the civil service and most likely, the judiciary too, trying to ape the amount of total control enjoyed by the EU Ruling Elite of Brussels. Gordon Brown totally ignores the British electorate, the man is borderline insane. British Civil Servants and the Judiciary, take EU Laws and directives then copper plate them. Rules covering in-shore fishing vessels above x meters in length are then reduced in size to cover rowing boats and British Fishermen are then prosecuted, fined and threatened with jail and confiscation of their very homes.

I do not blame the EU, historically whether Quislings or Vichy France, there are always traitors to every nation but in a sense, then with their lands under foreign occupation, perhaps one could understand them, in the UK in 2008, I think not we need to both find, humiliate publicly and punish these guilty Britons.

As the Bright Shining Beacon of true Democracy in the USA has shown us this week, it is time for us to rediscover our true heritage and overthrown the yoke of foreign occupation – NOW.
