A Black Prime Minister for the UK ?
We have in the UK something called “The Equality and Human Rights Commission” which I think came from the “Race Relations…something or other”. It has in charge of it a typical product of the “Race relations industry” a chap called Trevor Phillips who pops up every now and again to talk crap.
I suppose it was inevitable following the election of Barak Obama that we would hear from Phillips and sure enough we have. According to Phillips if he had been British, it wouldn’t have happened because British political parties are “institutionally racist”. I don’t know about this “claim or excuse” but Phillips is not correct because he doesn’t seem to understand the issues.
Wake Up Call – Leave the Political EU Now !
The election of Barak Obama in the United States the other day and the genuine ‘feel good factor’ that came with it is uplifting whether you are American or not because it speaks of the possibility of change and better days ahead.
Now I must admit that John McCain was rather more my personal choice but and however wearing the American Presidential process is that leads to the White House, it is truly a democratic one where nothing is settled until the people have had their say at the ballot box. The joy of it all makes one realise just how far we in the UK have fallen from the high ideals that the founding fathers took from us to write the American Constitution.
Being Nasty to Sarah Palin…
Iain Martin of the DT wrote some derogatory comments about Sarah Palin two days after the US Presidential Race was decided by the American electorate. Although I am no Sarah fan, it seems to say the very least, an “ungracious way to behave” by a British journalist.
My personal view of this conceited and self opinionated little prat can be best expressed by my postings to his blog.
Thank Heavens it’s Coming to an End…
I am very fond of the US and the people who live there and having been living and working there during 2000/2001, I saw the fallout from the “Hanging Chards of Florida” at first hand. There are many things to admire about American Democracy and the vast majority of citizens do take it all very seriously.
Unlike the rather mealy mouthed General Election Campaigns that we have where our politicians hardly dare touch “the proletariat” let alone look them in the eye, the big set piece Rallies in the States are a wonder to behold. But to be frank, I’m glad it’s coming to an end, over 20 months of Campaigning ? Oh pleeease…
David Cameron and a Very Odd Media…
The thing I find most fascinating in the current fiscal crisis where clearly, the fact that we in the UK are so unprepared is wholly down to Gordon Brown and his lack of foresight and control of the British economy, is the rather “too sudden turn” by the media to attack Cameron and the Tory party. It is all rather odd and one wonders just who is paying/promising what and to whom but, the smell of total corruption and possibly copious “back handers” hangs very heavy in the air.
In simple terms, none of this is David Cameron’s or, George Osborne’s fault plus that in these times, a responsible opposition has a difficult line to walk on behalf of the Nation. One can try and attack the Government at the political level but at the same time, try and avoid “talking the economy down” and making matters worse.
Software Upgrades
Now unless you are particularly interested in computer software, this most likely will be even more boring than my usual output.
I will start with a tale concerning two software companies who’s products I own existing licences for, Autodesk and Adobe and along the way I will mention Microsoft or to be specific, Microsoft Office but first about Autodesk…
