Avenger Eats Woolly Arse

im-lumley

Joanna Lumley who is rather more than still “top totty” despite being over 60, has led an inspired campaign based upon personal conviction concerning Gurkha settlement rights driven by the fact her Father served with them in action.

People who like to snipe, complain about her “celebrity status” and yet over many years, she has earned it through hard work as model and actress. This is no air head famous for being famous or being in the jungle or on Big Brother, this is a very smart and articulate lady who carries herself with dignity, grace and as is now clear, is totally lethal.

One of the Funniest ever…

Her ambushing Phil Woolas at the BBC studio at Westminster was an absolute classic and watching her slowly spit roasting Woolas yesterday was the absolute cherry on the cake, Ab Fab at its best ! I was going to write this piece as a “Wheels Falling Off the Government wagon… A train crash in slow motion…” and so on but something else more interesting reared its head.

I am a great fan of Daniel Hannan heck, who wouldn’t be after he shredded Brown in the European Parliament to his face ! But on his DT Blog he raised the problem of the public’s antithesis towards elected politicians and cited the lovely Joanna as an example that when confronted with a ‘celebrity’ and elected representative, the latter is on a hiding to nothing which has all kinds of interesting dimensions.

Whilst interesting the argument has several dimensions but my ‘post’ to the DT was as follows:

It Was the Civil Servants

“However and great fan of you as I am, you are rather giving the game away when you state that it is the Civil Servants who are in charge not the politicians and in which case, I have absolutely no time for any of you, you are a disgrace.

Whoever shipped those letters out, did so deliberately and with malice, they cannot claim they were unaware of the political, media impact of doing so. They intended to embarrass the Government and demonstrate that they are not in control of anything. Because of all the fuss, even the biggest dimwit in the Civil Service must surely have seen that before sending those letters and there were only 5, they should have been referred to the highest level possible.

Whoever was responsible, the Head of the Civil Service should find everyone involved through the whole chain of command, discipline, demote or sack the culprits and then write a public letter of apology to the Prime Minister.”

Is That So..?

“This rancid disease of not listening to the electorate which we thought was confined to the politicians has clearly got out of control and infected the bureaucrats, time both bunches of free loaders on the backs of the electorate and taxpayers, including future generations, were bought to account right now.

It is once again a very good reason for getting out of the EU before our civil servants start cross breeding with theirs – oops ! Far too late, that’s why the pond life in the Foreign Office always scare weak and gutless politicians like David Miliband to do their bidding so that from pulling out of that evil and wretched cabal before they have achieved their villas in Tuscany or the Loire.”

Conclusion:

We need politicians who will take control as “Tribunes of the People”, we do not need elected politicians “leaking information to the media”, they should be reporting to us directly and my dear friends, before you complain ask whether the people concerned in Westminster have been “reporting to us their electorate, directly ?” The answer is NO !
