Canadian Geese – more fun than Speaker Martin !

I normally use the Press and the on-line blogs to provide me with thoughts and inspirations for my own but Lordy, Lordy, right now it is an “Anger Fest” with all rationality gone out of the window so, time for more interesting things and in this case, Canadian Geese. Whereas Ducks are definitely rather “Daffy”, Geese are really cool creatures unlike say, Speaker Mick Martin.
I spotted this pair with their three goslings on one of the shallow crab ponds on the flood plain of the River Brue. I had never seen them with their young before and it was charming, they were very dutiful and protective parents.
For Future Use
The pictures I tend to post on this blog are really the first cuts rather than the “finished” product. This set because there are obviously a lot more than just 3 images because when you come across something interesting, without disturbing the birds or stressing them, you hang on in there to get as many variations as you can.
However this particular set will be most likely be used in a digital painting project that I’m working on to try and capture some of the magic of the Somerset Levels but I hope these are fun to share “as is”.

Great shots. The goslings around here are a bit further advanced than yours but no more beautiful. Their parents are single minded in protecting their possessions, a bit like the speaker.

Hopefully the about to be “ex-Speaker” !
I am using Flight Control Plus to keep Goose away from my garden and my back yard.
Resident Geese

Lordy, Lordy, I’ve heard of Grey Geese but Gay Geese, agh wait on, I think I understand, a Peacock that can’t get a date – swivel the plumage Honey !
