Today in the main Leader in the Independent, they decided to extol the virtues of the Liberal Democratic Party as the only one who could be trusted over the EU. It was both a sad and pathetic statement, on a par with Gordon Brown’s “Getting on with the job…” statements. Just how disconnected from reality can the Fleet St.  “chattering classes” become one asks ?

‘Only the Liberal Democrats have consistently put the case for Europe…’ Would be a great statement if even remotely true which it is not. What persuasive case has Clegg and his minions presented to the British electorate on the EU ? What personal benefits or even national benefits have been presented to us by them ? The answer is none at all and likely because there are none, the EU is just another Magic Suit of Clothes.

Personal Interests…

Yes we do understand that the personal interests of Clegg and Hume (the ‘other one’) and a number of senior Libdems being in line for their MEP pensions with Click Clack on an estimated indexed 60k a year, may have a lot to do with that – “what is good for me is good for the UK…” they claim. What is good for Detroit is good for America…until of course it wasn’t.

However, the Indy decieves itself  because when the Lisbon Treaty aka EU Constitution came before the House and despite having promised along with all other parties, a Referendum, the Libdems ran away and in doing so effectively voted to disenfranchise every UK citizen regardless of their views on the matter whether pro or anti. They have never ever even tried to “Make the case for the EU”, have never tried to present it as a positive thing.

Politics is the art of the possible, it is the job of all politicians to present their case and to get a mandate for action, Labour failed and so did the Libdems and in doing so on this topic, have abrogated their responsibilities as politicians and in doing so, forfieted our votes and respect, they deserve not to be heard or even listened to.

The Libdems are Trash…

Nick Clegg and the Libdems are the dross and dregs of British politics and morally as bad as the worse “expense cheating MP” from any party in the House because they are totally dishonest at every level.

The Liberal party was formed from a fusion of the Whigs and the Chartist Movement in the mid Nineteenth Century, they were the radicals of their day but before WWI broke out, they were destined to lose that crown to the Labour Party. In 100 years, they have never managed to challenge Labour to recover their appeal to the average voter so instead of doing their job, they want to change the ‘rules’ bring in fudge voting as in PR to make it easier for them as a party even if no good for the Country.

These creatures are prepared to change your and my world with PR, they are not prepared to get up off their fat bottoms and launch a “Libdem Vision” that all can buy into, they are little better than crooks, a muddle class Mafia. In the “expenses Scandal” some MPs have taken public money they are not entitled to but that is just cash; “He who steals my purse steals nothing, he who steals my Liberty, steals All.”

Contrast and compare these villains who would steal your vote, your voice and your Country for just a mess of potage for themselves, even Kim Philby would look reasonable in comparison in such company.
