The Gay/Liberal Mafia
In common with most of the British Press reacting to the Pope visiting the UK in September and in his letter to the British Bishops, expressing his fears over British anti-discrimination laws that have already led to Catholic Adoption Agencies closing down or severing their links with the Catholic Church.
Of course and even in the Independent, the Anti-Catholic, anti-Jewish vote were much in evidence, the Pro-Faggot Lobby was out in force and just for the total intolerance and bigotry, the Readers comments are worth a browse:
This Type of Legislation Does Not Help
After posting my views which really are as below later, another “regular” who I don’t always agree with, nor him with me I’m sure, as an intelligent contributor, complemented what I had said but added his own comments concerning “anti-discriminatory legislation” and how it can stifle merit. I replied to him as follows:
So Right
I have a long connection with the States and after a break of 22 years went to live and work there again in 2000 in a management role, it was at times a bit of a nightmare with some of my “Afro-American” staff and colleagues.
As a youngster and in common with many in the 60′s, I was all “Civil Rights Movement in the Deep South”, then came Vietnam and a disproportionate number of black servicemen dying there because they didn’t have the connections to dodge the draft. Post Vietnam came “Positive Discrimination” to try and balance things up and a generation on, I was having to deal with incompetent people who were entrenched in positions just because of their colour and were in some cases, totally lacking in merit or competence – it was their ‘right’.
Marry in Haste…
Too often people forget that politically popular measures taken at the time, can have unintended and unfortunate long term consequences. Legislation is a blunt instrument and to try and use it for “Social Engineering” and is the sure sign of a demented fool who tries. What people need is opportunity, what society needs is that people rise on merit and not any form of positive discrimination whether based on class, money, religion, political party, race, colour or sexual proclivity.
When people like Harriet Harmon stop being so blindly stupid as to frame bad Laws, they might just stop and think about what actually constitutes “Equality” and the limits of the Legal System to deliver it, “Hearts and Minds” might be a better route.
A Good Example
The issue of the Catholic Adoption Agencies was a classic case of demonstrating that you do not remove oppression from one group by imposing it on another, that is not equality. It is no different from during the rule of Saddam, Sunnis were cock of the walk, post Saddam it is Shias, one tyranny has merely been replaced with another, for that ‘read’ straight tyranny replaced with ‘pouffes tyranny’ !
If the old “orthodoxy” was unfair influence by religion, now to get on in the Media and the “Chattering Classes”, the new orthodoxy is Gay and Atheist. All a bit like Nazi Germany, if you are not a “Party Member”, you will not get on. Essentially this is totally Anti English and contradicts what has been achieved over centuries through much spilt blood.
Born and bought up as a Catholic after over 20 years I went through a divorce, I do not expect the Catholic Church to change their stance on divorce merely to accommodate me any more than if I were Gay I would expect them to either. Was this concept of a “personal relationship” with The Almighty not one of the key things that came out of the Reformation ? If I believe that my actions are well founded and based upon good intent, do I not have the faith and courage to trust in God’s Love ?
Or is it the case that it is only public acclaim that matters to most people and the good opinion of the “Blessed Harriet Harpoon” ?
Anti-Catholic and Anti-Faith
There has always been an underlying anti Jew, Catholic sentiment in England, you only have to read the “readers opinions” in the Telegraph to see that quite clearly but quite apart from ignorance, this is dangerous. Whatever religion, providing “People of Faith” conduct themselves within the Law of the Land, they should not be hindered in doing so nor, interfered with on their fundamental religious beliefs.
The fastest way to start a bloody religious war has always been via persecution. The Pope has the ability to speak for the Catholic Church, there is no similar person to speak for Islam although Moslems would share many of the same concerns as Christians. How do you want them to speak 7-7 again.
Gay Rights and the Labour Party
It is obvious that Gordon Brown and the Labour Party have simply run out of steam and ideas, this always happens in politics and regardless of Party. So too the “Gay Rights Lobby” which is now totally Don Quixotic.
The simple fact that there are few burning “gay rights issues” left but there are plenty who want to be ‘heroes’ waving a banner with no possibility of real physical harm or effort on their behalf – Peter Thatchell is different in this respect and I have met him, but then again he is genuine campaigner, not a fashion freak – fashionista as are so many media people.
A good example of where the Law can be used properly concerned the age of “consensual sex” for gay men. When the voting age was lowered to 18, it should have been automatic that the age for gay sex should have been reduced to 18 also, it wasn’t and had to be fought for, it remained at 21 for some time. Equally the “age of Consent” for gay sex was another issue 16 or 18 . The reality is that it should have been set at the same as that for heterosexual sex as a “non-issue”.
The madness of Labour is to extend beyond the sensible use of the Law and stray into trying to”legislate for peoples hearts and minds”, inevitably there will be a backlash which will then get the pendulum swinging the other way which makes no sense at all, we have done with all that burning at the stake a long time ago.
