The link is as follows: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/10508673.stm In most ways, I suspect that the ‘proposition’ is an ‘Aunt Sally’ and the author is playing a “Devils Advocate” role which [...]

What was really clever about this lay in identifying the “dumb user profile”. Someone who was basically an ignorant PC user who didn't 'patch' the operating system and probably, didn't have their “Anti-Virus” software up to date or even, didn't have any installed.

John Hutton will not be bribed in this way and in inviting him to undertake the work, both Cameron and Osborne know that whether they like it or not, his report will be honest and he will be outspoken. Yes, using a former Labour Minister is a purely “political move” because by appointing a fiercely independent man such as Hutton, if the conclusions were considered “unfavourable” by public sector workers, then at least the Government cannot be accused of “being the Nasty Tory Party” trying to sneak through changes they intended anyway.

But, was that really a surprise to anyone with a half functional brain, then or now ? There are however 'consequences' and the most interesting to my mind from the article in the Sunday Telegraph was that at least one person, put forward the idea that it could be Germany who leaves the Euro.

The Euro was always a bit of political nonsense that made no practical contribution to strengthening the EU. How on earth can you compare the German Economy with the Greek one ? As I said at the time, it was rather like taking the top performing 7 companies on the Stock Exchange and 7 self employed Plumbers, Carpenters, Bricklayers, Hairdressers and Beach Bums, putting them together and saying that they were economically equal which was a load of old cobblers so, the current Euro Crisis can surely hardly be a surprise.
